Justice Sunday 19-08-2012
A personal reflection:flight injustice work for justice
We live in a world where we contribute for the growth and
even for the destruction of each other.
When church comes forward to celebrate a day for the Justice,
Peace and Integrity of creation we as believers can bring about some novelty.
Jesus whose thinking and preaching has come to us in the Gospels of the four
evangelists. The tradition which tells us he was an itinerant preacher who
loved the nature. Took ideas from nature and also took care of the needs of
people. We have progressed much in the sense of technical finds, we grow more
food, we can move food from one place to the other. The world has shrunk to a
small global village. There are super markets where one can by from a needle to
a jumbo jet. The cost of this progress is the cause of people becoming
strangers to each other there is progress in the communication. Now mother
speaks to the child on the cell phone there are robots which caress a baby to
sing lullaby but the touch of the mother
has lost its sensitivity. Only if the mother knew her love would sustain a
child in that natural proximity to her. No we have so insensitivized the whole
nature. There are natural calamities which could never have been considered
possible.
When we as Catholics celebrate the Justice Sunday today let
us once again recover our pristine value of understanding, loving, respecting,
and honoring each other. Let us not divide the world in the name of progress by
felling the natural trees, forests, and doing way earth substituting it by
concrete structures, laying the whole area to avoid much all those concrete and
cement structures, tar roads have become such a mode of development the farmers
in India go on strike to save nature. Do we ever understand their pain and suffering.
Globalisation has taken over feeling for nature. Let us first
respect the vast nature God has given us the beauty of birds, and other
creatures which inhabit this earth to protect it to the whole of creation
In union with the divine word,
