Holy Family Feast 2012 Theme: Life in a home or Life in a rest-house? 1st Reading Sirach 3:2-6, 12-14 Respect to Parents 2nd Reading Col. 3:12-21 Paul’s explains values of Christian family. Gospel Mt.2:13-15, 19-23 Homeless family. This is a rare occasion when the first Sunday in Christmas week happens to be the Feast of holy Family. We know Family holds important place in any society. Family in Christian life is so important; we associate a family to the Trinity. The family in Christian faith means it becomes holy because of a Sacrament through the sacrament of Matrimony. In Christian world family consists of father, mother and children. Now for the last few years it has shrunk to a miniature family. This has been advertised to prove that small family is the source of happiness. People try to justify this idea through ignorance of family value. To prove this they say that only a small family can be happy. This is watched every day on TV, Movies, and Serials and news paper articles. They say there are various means of making the families small. Now home has turned into rest house, where strangers live. Love and care, communication and reconciliation and sharing, takes back stage. To make family small people use, methods which are forbidden by Magisterium. God who created the human being and so the family, in the modern world, house has become a hotel, where people come and go with out much intimacy. God has told us to this world where people love and care for each other. Human life is so important, it has to be preserved. So God keeps us in existence giving us opportunities to make his vision real. But we have not kept this in our lives. Our homes have vanished from being homes but they have become rest houses. We have to restore God’s plan for us. We as Christians live in the presence of God. Book of Ecclesiasticus (Sirach) explains the duties of children towards the parent. Today’s reading shows the duties of children. Let us listen carefully to the reading. Paul in epistle to Colossians explains the virtues each person as a Christian has to practice in the family. If we pay attention to this reading most of our families will live as happy families. Divorce will become rare. People will love and care, respect and support family values Gospel is a story of pilgrim Jesus with his parents. Though he came to his own his own did not recognize and respect and allow even to have his own home. He lived as a pilgrim in this world. Try to fulfill the will of his father. A family has to have a family. Jesus right from his birth lived as an itinerant. Jesus was born in a manger, had to flee from the King because of being murdered by the king. Jesus could not go back to his home land because of fear of insecurity and death before his time. Even when he grew up he went from place to place preaching. His family was a larger world, where poor destitute, sick lame, blind, lepers and paralyzed accompanied him even sinners and prostitutes were his friends. He called the people around him, his father, mother sisters and brother. Jesus claimed those who did the will of his Father were his family members. We find it difficult to live up to the will of God . The family has become so disunited, where wife has to work, the husband has to work to make the many needs to become reality, children go to school, there is hardly any one at home. “The value”, the family that prayed together, ate together lived together is hardly visible. Life in modern family, is a fast track struggle. To live up to the ideals of each member they have to struggle daily. When every one returns every one is busy with their own little world, children are either busy with tuitions, or studies or watching TV Parents are busy on their own sometimes arguing, fighting etc. Hardly the family bond is cemented with caring, sharing, communicating dialoging and recreating. People live as if to fulfill the needs of each other, not realizing what they loose is the sensitive emotional psychological, requirements of each other. As Catholics we have to rise up to the needs of restoring to the values that were set before us. Other wise we will multiply old age homes to put our parents in. The book of Sirach, reminds us of our responsibility towards each other. Let us try to live in our homes as families where we find real love, where we care for each other share each others concerns, talk to each other lovingly. Wishing all a happy Holy Family Feast. I Sunday in Advent 2012 Theme: Vigilant Hope year C


1st Sunday Advent year C Vigilant Hope!!! 2-12-12 1st Reading Jer. 33:14-16 The Institutions of the future. 2nd Reading 1st Thess. 3:12-4:2 Paul exhorts Christians to live in holiness and Charity. Lk 21:25-28, 34-36 Cosmic disasters and glorious coming of the Son of man, reveals us to be alert. The Psalmist teaches us that God’s ways are faithfulness and love. Love frequently expresses itself in promises and promises demand faithful fulfillment. Jeremiah speaks of God’s promises to the House of Israel and the House of Judah. Those promises, however, were only further expressions of the first and basic promise that God gave us: he would send us a saviour, born of a woman (Genesis 3:13). As we begin our celebration of Advent, we look back to that first promise and realize that it contains the essence of the Gospel which gives us light and life. A promise cannot be coerced but must be freely given. So all of God’s promises, particularly that first promise, were freely given: they were given through grace and their fulfilment was also an act of grace. So “all is grace”, as Saint Paul says (Rom 4:16). Using the words of St Paul to the Thessalonians, the Church today urges us to make more and more progress in the kind of life we are meant to live, that is to say, the life of our baptism promises the life of grace. Jeremiah’s prophesies make the reader to face the world with hope and not to despair. Discerning the spirit of God will help us to see all that happens around us to be alert to face it. We see people despairing and loosing hope because often the present scenario is not very encouraging to people who are living in hope. We are shown how a people who trusted in the power of God who would raise from the stock of David a redeemer. In today’s message Jeremiah cleverly reminds the hearer of the eternal enduring promise of God almighty. Surely for us, who have experienced God’s closeness in resignation to his will, can we say we are happy to be celebrating the Advent of the lord to celebrate Christmas? In the second reading in the Thessalonian’s letter we hear how Paul has been encouraging the believing community to live lives worthy of their choice as believers. Those days it might have been the way to instruct people so intimately. Today when we go to church to attend Eucharist as believing community, our lives have to change reasonably well. Our lives have to radiate Christ’s liberating love of which he speaks to his listeners. We are the same as Paul’s disciples who listened to his instructions. In the Gospel cosmic disasters are announced to show Christ is the master of the nature. When he eventually appears we will be at his right side. We have to stand erect because our liberation is near at hand. Our vigilant watchfulness will surely allow us to see him as he is- loving, caring and comforting. Jesus loves us with all our faults, not because we are worthy but he has loved us in spite of all these defects to free and liberate us.. So this Advent will enable us to be patiently waiting for the lord. Jesus has entered into our lives he still expects us to allow the door of our hearts to be opened widely!!! How can we open the door wide when we face financial recession all over the world? When people have lost jobs? Their children who used to attend the best schools are left to go to public schools? Where they have to struggle to get even the basics amenities for their living. When the social structures of large families are disintegrating. Single parent families emerge, same sex marriages are becoming legal, abortion is not considered sin, where fetus is aborted with no fear of sin, can we still be a believing community who can remain steadfast in hope and be vigilant in waiting to be liberated? Yes surely we are testimonies of God’s deliverance. He has he it is who has chosen us to be his testimony of love. We read so many testimonies of people who attend retreat and testify for a miracle. Can we do the same as general Christians who live our everyday lives as testimony of love????? I invite all of you just to live your lives joyfully!!!!! Solemnity of Christ the King Theme: Real leadership entails suffering service 25-11-12 1st Reading Daniel 7:13-14 the one most venerable! 2nd Reading Revelation 1:5-8 the Almighty Alpha and Omega! Gospel John 18:33-37 are you the King of the Jews? The two Kingdoms Jesus showed by suffering on earth he overcame death to reign triumphant in heaven! Saint John in his statement of Passion explains that Kingship of Jesus is not that of an earthly king or a politician. He never tells us Jesus is King. Till the painful description of passion he speaks repeatedly about his kingship. All these last few 33 Sundays we have been following Jesus in his various activities as our Master, as our savior, as our leader, as our healer, as our teacher, as our brother, as the one who calls us to serve him in suffering. Whenever people misunderstood him and tried to make him king he always escaped from their midst. He was a natural leader during his life time. People followed him out of curiosity, wanted to hear him when he spoke because he spoke with authority. It could happen only if one is sensitive to the reality one is used to. Jesus was such.. Last function of service is the one which we will try to meditate on this wonderful feast of our Leader, who came to call sinners, to bring healing, to restore, and be a motivating factor to all of us. He has told us again and again we will have to suffer to reach our goal heaven. So we must willingly live our lives as Christians. When the universal church celebrates the great feast of Christ our King today we proclaim him as our king. We solemnly proclaim his kingdom in the prayer we so very personally recite everyday may be hundreds of times. This prayer has the module of asking God to bring his kingdom. Why are we saying this prayer? Though Jesus so very insistently tells us he is not the king in the sense the humans have a sense of kingship. His kingdom is not of this world. We so naturally seeks in the our Father to send his Kingdom. It is father’s Kingdom. Then who is this King Jesus our master? He is the rightful owner, the prince who has completed the mission given to him by his father. He went and lived the humblest of reality. Human condition of want, hunger, even the sense of sin but not the sin itself. Though he was God he took upon himself the conditions of man. Except sin he became every thing to every one every where. That is why his kingdom is endless. Because he has over come the earthly power by becoming obedient unto death and won over and rose to be reigning as triumphant. The first two reading speak the glory of Jesus second advent. The word Glory is often used in the Old Testament, for the light filled splendor of God’s presence. Because when Jesus tells Philip in the gospel, “to have seen me is to have seen the Father”, though people could not recognize him, he always said “my kingdom is not of this world” In Jesus kingdom he does not call us servants, but friends, companion, family members. 33rd Sunday Ordinary Time Year B Theme Spiritual pilgrimage


33rd Sunday Ordinary time B 18-11-12 1st Reading Daniel 12:1-3 Time of the End 2nd Reading Heb 10:11-14,18 efficiency of Christ’s sacrifice!! Gospel Mk 13:24-32 coming of the Son of man. Theme: ! Spiritual Pilgrimage ! After a wonderful religious journey in the person of Saint Mark for the last few weeks we have been following Jesus instructing us through his religious discourses. He has been a unique teacher who used parables, miracles, discourses, stories, natural happenings of the day to tell us how God has been treating us to be saved. Salvation as a reality, we seek it in various religious activities. When we go for spiritual renewals we engage in reflecting on our religious experiences, these will assist us to deepen our relationship to each other and thus our relationship to God. Prophet Daniel in the first reading narrates destruction of the temple, which for the Jews was the focal point of religious wellbeing. To witness the destruction of the temple meant the downward trend in religiosity of the Jews. Prophet’s predictions of the temple did surely come true. History is the witness to this in the year 70 Ad the temple was in fact destroyed. By a gentile army of Titus the king. Mark must have been a first hand witness to this event so when he narrates the same event in connection to the life of an early Christian community, the reality becomes meaningful because Jesus taught us that our body is the temple of God and only sin could destroy this temple. The value of the temple destruction, in fact becomes more relevant, in the modern time when we witness these values being eroded by licentious living and other moral degradation. We know from the times when the disciples began to announce the values of the kingdom there have been persecutions to the reality of the believing community. This is narrated in detail in the acts of the apostles, in the life of the early church. Persecution and destruction is a normal reality in the life of the believer. Haven’t we lived this and experience this even today? Does it deepen our faith and strengthen our commitment to the Lord even to lay down our own lives for the faith? Then as the church reaches the end of cycle B to begin the great event of Jesus as the King of kings, even though the kingship of Jesus is not of this world but of heaven, we give him that honor. The imagery used by the prophet and the writer of the Gospel to indicate the reality of suffering faithful is also real because even in modern times the suffering is a reality that is visible in our own country and in other places like in China and other countries where there is no religious freedom. Though our country has a constitution which professes to be secular, when it comes to living this reality it is far from it. The governments that have come and gone spoke so much about this but none have, even lifted a finger to redress this freedom. So when we see in the second reading the God sending his only son, he in turn has offered himself forever as the one perfect sacrifice once and only once and it is sufficient proof of his love for the whole of mankind. So in our religious journey towards our heavenly city in our pilgrimage of love let us live this vision of a place for us where there will be life which is full and ever united with the Lord. Theme: the generosity of the poorest of the poor! 
1st Reading 1st Kings 17:10-16 Miracle of flour and oil.
2nd Reading Hebrews 9:24-28 Christ seals the new covenant with his blood.
Gospel Mark 12:38-44 Jesus condemns craftiness of the scribes and praises the widow’s mite!
It is very revealing how the poorest of the poor come forward during the times of crisis to come to the aid of the suffering.
We have seen this during times of flood, famine, earthquake and  man made calamities like terrorist attack etc.
In the modern time we see this in the TV & Radio news giving vivid pictures of the happenings.
It is usually the poor people who come not minding whatever the cost.
Even when blood is needed how people who are poor who know what it means to donate blood come forward to donate blood.
Recently we read a priest donating his kidney to save a non believer!!!!
A child donating his life’s saving to save poor people.
When there are accidents it is the poor people who rush to the accident site to help the wounded and the needy.
There are some politicians use such occasions to make name donating money and material.
When some one does such charities to make name and fame this does not stem from the heart.
We can see this on their face!!!!
In today’s two reading the widows who are given as the models for us to follow in our daily generosity are exceptional people. Widows do not mind sharing the little they have.
In the Gospel we find the widow giving all she has to the temple treasury!
When in contributing the possession to the needy the attitude with which it is given is the result.
Sharing generously is exceptional.
When we deprive ourselves some comfort to make the needy comfortable is real generosity.
I have a department where the people who contribute to the poor children in our mission are the most generous.
Some times they deprive themselves and their children the most essential things to help our children in our care.
There are stories of families forgoing holidays to make people have medical facilities which otherwise they would never be able to avail.
These are not recorded but lived realities when we are in the parish we come across such generous instances.
We may say this happens because of emotional blackmailing.

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time year B 11-11-12 Theme: the generosity of the poorest of the poor! 1st Reading 1st Kings 17:10-16 Miracle of flour and oil. 2nd Reading Hebrews 9:24-28 Christ seals the new covenant with his blood. Gospel Mark 12:38-44 Jesus condemns craftiness of the scribes and praises the widow’s mite! It is very revealing how the poorest of the poor come forward during the times of crisis to come to the aid of the suffering. We have seen this during times of flood, famine, earthquake and man made calamities like terrorist attack etc. In the modern time we see this in the TV & Radio news giving vivid pictures of the happenings. It is usually the poor people who come not minding whatever the cost. Even when blood is needed how people who are poor who know what it means to donate blood come forward to donate blood. Recently we read a priest donating his kidney to save a non believer!!!! A child donating his life’s saving to save poor people. When there are accidents it is the poor people who rush to the accident site to help the wounded and the needy. There are some politicians use such occasions to make name donating money and material. When some one does such charities to make name and fame this does not stem from the heart. We can see this on their face!!!! In today’s two reading the widows who are given as the models for us to follow in our daily generosity are exceptional people. Widows do not mind sharing the little they have. In the Gospel we find the widow giving all she has to the temple treasury! When in contributing the possession to the needy the attitude with which it is given is the result. Sharing generously is exceptional. When we deprive ourselves some comfort to make the needy comfortable is real generosity. I have a department where the people who contribute to the poor children in our mission are the most generous. Some times they deprive themselves and their children the most essential things to help our children in our care. There are stories of families forgoing holidays to make people have medical facilities which otherwise they would never be able to avail. These are not recorded but lived realities when we are in the parish we come across such generous instances. We may say this happens because of emotional blackmailing. 1st Reading Deut 6:2-6 First commandment, ‘Love God’.
2nd Reading Heb 7: 23-28 The perfection of Heavenly high priest.
Gospel Mk 12:28 b -34 Greatest commandment of all to love God and love neighbor.
The Old Testament gave great importance to keeping the law of the Lord.
The first was to love God with one whole heart.
The earliest rule for the chosen race was to keep the law given by God.
There was no exception.
They even wrote it on their forehead.
It was so important that no one could add or subtract any iota from its meaning.
Today when we read this in the first reading we are reminded of the significance of this in our lives.
We know Jesus our redeemer came in to our lives only to reveal the splendor of this God who loves us personally.
All through his public ministry Jesus attempted to reveal the goodness of the Father to his listeners.
There are various rules that keep on repeating.
As day and night happen without our knowing.
This law of nature happens without failure.
We take it for granted.
If this does not happen we feel something strange has happened.
We see that rules in our lives are able to make our life more regular.
We see that Jesus came to give us this as a revelation.
He saw that his listeners understood all the rules of life.
He even told them that he came to bring to fulfillment the law of God.
He was the fulfillment of the law he said.
In him all the laws came to fruition.
Asking questions and getting an answer had been the way the Pharisees and the Saducees went about.
Today they want to test him and ask which is the greatest of the commandments.
Jesus rightly answers them and shows he knows the Rule which they held as holy.
And he adds his own version which is new love your neighbor as yourself.
And the scribe is very glad to know Jesus knows his catechism.
He praises him and tells that Jesus has answered the question rightly.
Jesus also praises the scribe saying he is not very far from the kingdom of God.
Are we not interested in the Kingdom of God?
How we try to live his law meaningfully.
We have many ways of following Jesus and his mission.
We have come here to the church to be part of God’s loving family.
When we live our call as Christians and live our call meaningfully God’s kingdom is in our midst.
Come let us be part of God’s loving family,

30th Sunday year B 28-10-12 Theme: Gift of Sight 1st Reading Jeremiah 31:7-9 God will lead his people home from exile 2nd Reading Hebrews 5:1-6 Jesus can sympathize with all our limitation and weaknesses Gospel Mark 10:46-52 Jesus frees the man from his blindness We hear about eye donation now a day’s. We know how the world has developed even the doctors are able to transplant the dead person’s eyes to the living blind people. What a development? But still there are many blind people in this world. The first reading today tells us of a God who is able to give people whom he loves a life as they are saved from exile. The new the description of people who have hope is unique even the blind will return to the promised land. God is a God who knows what is required to his people. God will lead them with such power they will not even stumble. The letter to the Hebrews extols the life of the priest. We have in the church priests who do this job so nicely. The life of the priest becomes a light to the nation. He is able to expend many duties more dutifully. Olden days the priest used to be a leader, a healer and a judge in a way a religious guru works today. But today his role of a priest has become more of an organizer and administrator. The original meaning is almost lost, the splendor of the pastoral side is gone? Though these duties of the priest have become more extenuated but still priest of today is a person whose life is sought and praised. Many want the life of the priest to be used as they want. Today’s Gospel is a real example of Jesus compassion. The person is sitting there begging. We find in front of our Hindu temples many types of people sit and beg. Even some beggars sit now in front of our churches to beg. The places of worship have become a place sit and beg. Same thing similar, must have happened where Jesus used to go for praying. We find in today’s Gospel a blind man Bar-Timaeus seeking Jesus help. Jesus not only heals him from his blindness but also to give him the gift of faith. This healing also causes Jesus to face the wrath of the Pharisees and Sadducees. The parents of the blind man avoid the questioning of the leaders. The parents Say, “he is grown up they should ask and find who has healed him so he should face his own action. The Blind man is ready to stand for his right as being healed Looking at this example we have to take lesson to stand up for our right God has given us the light of faith we must be able to live it to the full. There are times our faith will be tested. Let us all hope and live like people who have been healed of blindness of evil.. Today’s Eucharist is a time for us to deepen our faith and live our faith as people who have been healed from the blindness.. 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time B 21-10-12 Theme: Servant Leadership 1st Reading Is 53:10-11 The servant of the Lord will bring salvation to men by his suffering. 2nd Reading Heb 4:14-16 by experiencing the conditions of men Jesus has shown us the way to face human difficulties. Gospel Mark 10:35-45 Any one who wants to be the leader must be first of all the servant. Reflections of today’s reading:- The value of our life is not understood as long as we do not loose some of its worth. We know how much we value health, has, only when we become ill do we realize the value of it. We realize the value of wealth when we have lost it. We realize the value of our dear ones when we have lost them either by death or by distances. We realize the value of friendship only when we loose one of the best ones we have. The picture in the bible about man who was created in God’s image before the fall is pristine. After the fall this nature which human beings inherited has to suffer. No one would willingly choose suffering. The hope of the nations Jesus who has shown us the way, because he is the way, the truth and the life. He has given us a hope because his leadership has been that of a suffering servant proposed and prophesied ages ago in the prophetic vision of Prophet Isaiah. In the first reading we hear the prophet talking about a suffering servant who will bring about the salvation to all men by his suffering. Jesus was this suffering servant in Jesus life the prophecy of a suffering servant, has come true. He took upon himself all the pains and misery and even the ignominy of being accused, though he was innocent. He goes through this condemnation of being crucified and proves to the world he was the savior and the redeemer. He chooses suffering to bring meaning to it. The second reading from the Hebrews tells us how much this suffering servant becomes a real source of joyful living to the people who have a glimmer of hope in this world where there are many difficult conditions in the lives of men and women. The Gospel where the disciples want positions in the kingdom of God which Jesus Christ came to announce. It is quite natural in our customs when we have friends and relatives who have important positions to seek some favor. We see people going to people who have power to seek favors. Some times seeking permission to build, some times to seek some thing that they other wise could not easily have with out some recommendation. I feel James and John must have been moved by this sort of prevailing conditions and customs. Jesus who came to rectify the anomaly in the lives of societies purifies their vision of life by proposing an idea of servant leadership. Jesus tells his disciples that unless they drink the cup he is going to drink they could not have that position which they were seeking. They have to be men who serve not the ones who seek service. Therefore Jesus says very truly “the son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mk 10:45) The church is supposed to live this ideal in their every day living. But on the contrary some how on the way to modern times this ideal has become devalued. It is high time the leadership in the church restores this ideal to its pristine original form. I wish all the believers coming to be part of the Eucharistic celebration where the Living Jesus will encounter each one of us be imbued by the grace and power of Jesus, In union with the divine word, Fr. Mission Sunday 24-10-10 Theme: Authentic Testimony, 21-10-12 1st Reading Is 56:1,6-7 All will gather to offer sacrifice in one place. 2nd Reading Romans 10:9-18 Blessings for a missionary and the beneficiaries of his mission. Gospel Luke 24:44-55 Jesus wants the Gospel be preached for repentance which will lead to forgiveness of sins. The first reading tells us how God takes care of each one of is saved. God says that his salvation will come to al who believe in Him. The second reading shows the power of the word. The revealing reality of God’s goodness in His Son’s mission to save us has come to each one of us. Jesus died on the Cross, rose from the dead to give us new vision for a life eternal Gospel is a story of Jesus, who came to brings the fullness of the Revelation. Jesus tells us that we are going to be authentic witness of his saving mission. When we accept our sinful condition and seek his forgiving love he will show that he saves us. We are celebrating the Mission Sunday usually before the Advent. In the last days of the month of October, we gather our thoughts to the idea of universal gift of salvation. We have to become aware of this truth that it has to reach each person born in this world. We see though many are involved in proclaiming the good news. We have many saints who have really been instrumental in bringing salvation to many people. The greatest are the apostles. Paul takes first place in proclaiming the good news to the gentiles. We have a recent saint, Theresa of child Jesus as the model of missions. She never stepped out of her religious community. Neither was she gifted to preach. She was a person who prayed for the missions this has given her the right to be one of the patrons of the missions. St. Theresa of child Jesus offered her life of suffering to the proclamation of the word of God. Her mission of suffering service inside the convent became a shining source of her missionary endeavor. We have the most recent saint of the gutter. Our own Blessed Mother Theresa who was a missionary parexellance, doing her little duties with love. It is not enough to give donations and forget about our duties. The most important duty of every Christian is to be a living witness to the truth we have experienced. When we live our Christian life joyfully, expressing our love in a living relationship will we be shining examples of living love. Then people will say, “look there live the living Christians” Was not Blessed mother Theresa a living shining star in the suffering marginalized? The world leaders’ unbelievers, even communists recognize her missionary charisma. People have borne testimony of her influence on their lives. Why do we not influence people around us? Usually some people come to see me after mass. I work for a department where I collect funds for poor children in the hostel. One day the mother of these people said to me, “why don’t you seek help for my children?” I said this is only for poorest of the poor people they are not poor. Immediately the little son of her said, “mom why deprive some poor children their share by asking help from Father?” That is witness coming from the inner voice of a child who saw good unknowingly. Where as the mother was not aware of the goodness in them. To be a missionary we could…. bring justice where justice is lacking, bring love where love is missing, bring duty where laziness reigns, bring compassion where hardness of heart dominates, bring about unity where there is disunity, harmony where there is disharmony. These are Christian values do we endeavor to bring these into our ambit in our daily lives? We may say that is not my work. My work is to provide for my family. Take care of their needs. Live happy family life. When we have a happy family can we have a reliable happy society. Often that happiness of the Christian joy is mission in the run for our daily bread. In the process joy is lost, unity and justice is lost. We get trapped in the rat race of this life. At the end of the day we feel we have achieved very little? Let us become aware of our responsibility of being Christian in this modern world. Often our testimonies will become instruments of grace to someone in need of a light in dark tunnel. Have I ever experienced my testimony becoming a source of grace to some one in my vicinity? Then I can say my mission task is actively working as a Christian. If I am insensitive about salvation of other person then my faith is selfish. I have to be a messenger of grace, an apostle of hope, a companion of Good News, a missionary of salvation. I can bring forgiveness, repentance, love, hope, goodness, who knows how many virtues which will eventually be instrumental to the gift of Faith which is exceptionally given by God. I can be an instrument, which is sharp then my product will be beautiful and sharp. Let us be always ready for our mission and become fit and worthy instruments of missionary grace. अठ्ठावीसवां रविवार साधारण काल का वर्ष B 14-10-12 विषय: ईश वचन/ ग्याव वाणी ग्रंथ में से पहला पाठ 7:7-11 ग्यान वाणी का वरदान के लिए सोलोमन राजा की प्रार्थना/ हिब्रुओं के नाम पत्र में से दूसरा पाठ 4: 12-13 ईश वचन दुधारी तल्वार से भी तीक्ष्ण होता हॆ/ संत मार्क्रुस के सुसमाचार में से 10:17-30 ईसा का शिश्य बनने के लिए दॊलत को त्यगना होगा/ आज हम सब इस पवित्र पूजा में भाग ले कर हमारे विश्वास के वरदान को द्रढ कर सकते/ आज हमने ती पाठ सुने जिसमें ईश वचन के महत्व को समझाने के प्रयत्न हुआ हॆ/ ग्यान वाणी के ग्रंथ में हम देखते कि सोलोमन राजा ग्यान को धन से पहला स्थान देते/ वह जानता कि उसे जब ग्यान प्राप्त होगा तो दूसारा धन आसानी से मिलेगा/ ग्यान की प्राप्ति के लिए वह हर चीज का त्याग करने पीछे न हटता/ ईश्वर ने उसे भरपूर ग्यान का दान प्रदान किया/ हम विश्वासी इस संसार के यात्री हॆं जहां जीने के समय पग पग पर हमें ग्यान की आवश्यकता हेती हे/ इस प्रेरणादाई ग्यान की पूर्ति हमें केवल ईश्वर के ग्यान पर आधार रखने से ही संभव हॆ/ आधुनिक युग में हमें जीने का जो मॊका मिला हे, जहां हमें अनेक सुख सुविधायें मिली हॆं/ कमी हे तो शांती ऒर ग्यान की/ इसे हमे केवल ईश क्रपा के अनुकंपासे प्राप्त कर सकते/ इस संसार में जीने के लिए ईश्वर ने मानव जाती को तरह तरह की बुध्दी का वरदान दिया हे/. जब हम एक साथ लोगों में मिल जुल कर रहने सीखते तो वास्तव में ईश्वर के आत्मा का संचार हमें प्रवेष करे गा/ क्यों कि ईश्व वचन दोधारी तल्वार से भी धार दार ऒर तॆज होता हे/ हमें वास्तविकता से सोचने की ताकत देता हॆ/ यद्यपी आधुनिक युग में लोग एक दूसरे को नीचे दिखाने की कोशीश करते फिरभी यदी हम ईश प्रेरणा पर विश्वास रखें गे तो वह हमें उसके ग्यान का वरदान अवश्य देगा/ आधुनिक युग में हम एक दूसरे पर आवलंभित हॆं/ इस आवलंभन को मूर्थरूप हम तभी दे सकते कि हम ईश प्रेरणा से परिपूरित हो कर अपना काम कर्ने लायक बने/ यह तभी संभव हे जब हम ईश ग्यान को हमारे जीवन के कार्य शेली में प्रमुख स्थान दें/ इसी कारण जब ईसा से मिलने एक अमीर युवक आया ऒर उसका शिष्य बनने की याचना करने लगा तो ईसा ने उसे त्याग भावना अपनाने का निमंत्रण दिया/. पर वह एक बहुत अमीर युवक था जो धन दॊलत को त्यागना पसंद न करता था/ जब ईसाने इस की आशा की तो वह निराष होकर ईसा से दूर गया/ तब उसके अन्य शिष्य ईसा से सवाल करने लगे, क्या उन्हें कुछ प्राप्त होगा? क्यों कि उन्हों ने तो सब कुछ त्याग दिया हॆ/ इस पर ईसा उन्हें सांत्वना दे कहते कि अनंत जीवन प्राप्ती ही उनके त्याग का सबसे उत्तम वरदान हॆं/ हम विश्वासि ईसा के अनुयाई बने हॆं, निरंतर उनकी बात उनके वचन की प्रेरणा से यदी हम अपना जीवन व्यतीत करें तो अवश्य हमें अनंत जीवन मिलेगा/. इस संसार में अनेक प्रकार के प्रलोभन हमें ईश्वर के राज्य से विमुक्त करने की कोषीश करेंगे/ यदि हम अपने जीवन के लक्ष्य को न भूलेंगे तो हमें अनंत जीवन की प्राप्ति से कोई रोख न सकता/ आपका हितॆषी फादर जुजे वास एस.वि.डि.

28th Sunday in Ordinary time year B 14-10-12 Wisdom 7:7-11 Solomon’s respect for Wisdom. Hebrews 4: 12-13 The Word of God is sharper than sword. Gospel Mark 10:17-30 discipleship calls for renunciation. Theme: The Word of God Today’s liturgy revolves around the Word of God. In the first reading we find how Solomon the king, values the Wisdom. He wants to get wisdom to allow him to rule his people with care. He prays and wisdom is given him. Attitude of Solomon can be applied to every Christian who values this in his/her life for the kingdom of God. The wisdom of the Word enables each Christian to live in the modern world with discerning spirit. We will be able to discern the various occasions to live it meaningfully and enjoy every moment of our lives. There are as many types of intelligences as there are human beings in this world. The life we have to live in this modern world is choosing from a complex situations of life every day. Every one of us, tries to be wise in a sense that is applicable to the person seeking it. Why do we use the worldly wisdom, often to avoid evil and achieve good in everyday life? Can this complex question be answered? At the end of the day often the human beings are left dissatisfied and often discouraged, because the end result is not to his/her liking. We find in the letter to the Hebrews where the writer is trying to compare the effects of the word of God in our lives how it can pierce into our life situations. None of us like to be corrected. Though the corrections are happening constantly, like the events of conversions. Some take corrections openly and try to improve in the manner they are proposed some ignore them. We see this in the life of the young man who voluntarily approached Jesus and wanted to follow him. He even followed a path that was leading him to a life of grace. But he wanted to achieve something higher so he approaches Jesus. And when Jesus proposes him to give up that which he loves most that is wealth he is sad and goes away. Then Jesus rightly says it is not easy for people who seek righteousness more than the suffering can’t enter the kingdom. At the end Peter, who is impulsive as ever says ‘what would he gain he had left everything.’ Jesus promises him hundred fold of everything. In our lives we as Christians have the option to seek the values of the kingdom. They are not easy to achieve but they demand so many sacrifices. Sensitivity to the rightness, justice, truth, honesty, solidarity, peace, integrity, dedication, discernment to the right behavior is a constant search. This Sunday Liturgy will challenge each one of us to be Christians not only keeping the Sabbath, the Sunday duty, but being sensitive to the demands of the time. Wishing, you all a happy Sunday rest. इस कारण हमें हमारे विश्वास के दान के लिए ह्रदय की गहराई से आभार व्यक्त कर ना चाहिए/
हम सब ख्रिस्तीय विश्वासियों को ईश्वर ने एक विशेष कार्य के लिए बुलाया हॆ/
यह मिशन कार्य हर विश्वासी को कर्थव्य पूर्वक निभाना चाहिए/
संत पुष्पा ने अपने छोटे से जीवन काल में मिशन के लिए अपना जीवन समर्पित किया/
इसी लिए उसे सारी कलीसियाके मिशन की संरक्षिका के रूप में स्थान दिया गया हॆ/
हर रविवार जब हम विश्वासी पवित्र पूजा में संलग्न होकर हमारे विश्वास को घोशित करते तो वस्तव में हम ईश्वर के प्यार की घोषणा करते/
आज के तिन पाठ हमें ईश्वर की प्यार की कार्य क्षमता को दर्शाते/ 
ईश्वर ने पहले पाठ मे आदमी ऒर ऒरत की रचना का चित्र पाठ से हमें दिया हॆ/
उत्पत्ती ग्रंथ में ईश्वर को श्रष्टी कर्ता के रूप में हम मिलते/
ईश्वर सारे श्रष्ठी को श्रजन कर उसे मानव के उपयोग के लिए देता हॆ/
मानव हर रचना को नाम देकर उसे काम में लेने का प्रण करता हे?
पर उस्के साथी के रूप में उसे कोई न मिलता/
इस लिए ईश्वर उसे गाढ निद्रा में भेज कर उसके लिए एक साथी की श्रष्ठी कर प्रदान करता/
बाईबल में हमें दो प्रकार की श्रष्टी की बात देख ने को मिलती हॆ/
नर ऒर माधा ऎसा ईश्वर ने इस लिए बनाया ताकि उसकी श्रष्टी की प्रक्रिया चलती ही रहे/
हम देखते कि इस संसार में पूर्व-पश्चिम, उत्तर-दक्षिण दिशा होती/ 
वॆसे ही दो विपरीत दिशावों से एक समुचित दिशा की उत्पत्ती होती हॆ/
चीनियों ने इन ऒर यान नामक दो प्राक्रतिक विपरीत दिशा से ऎसि परिस्थिती का का चयन उन के वॆग्यानिक लोगों के सोच का माद्यम बना/ 
हम देखते हॆं कि इस संसार में परिवार की स्थापना विवाह से होती हॆ/
ख्रिस्तिय परिवार की रचना पवित्र संस्कार के माद्यम से होता हे/
यह संस्कार अटूट बंधन से स्त्री ऒर पुरुष के बंधन को एक सूत्र में बांध कर परिवार की स्थापना होती हॆ/
विवाह संस्कार के दरमियान स्त्री पुरुष एक दूसरे को जीवन भर साथ देकर साथ निभाने का वचन देते/
कलिसिया का बंधन ईसा मसीह के बंधन से स्थिर बन कर विवाह के बंधन से वह अपना स्थान लेता हॆ/. 
आधुनिक युग में लोग अनेक प्रकार के ग्यान से अपनी सॊच को बदलने लगे हॆं/
पुरानी बातों से वे परहेज कर ने लगे हें/
लोग सोचते कि वे सब बाते अब बे माने हो गई हॆं
वे अब ज्यादा सीख गये हें/
पर हम जान ते कि हमारी अंतरात्मा हमें अपने अंदर की आवाज को सुनने के लिए प्रेरित कर सच्चे रास्ते पर ले जाने लगती हॆ/
आज के तीनो पाठ हमें ईश्वर के साथ अपनी आस्ता को द्रढ करने में सहायक होगी/

27th Sunday of the Year B 07-10-12 Theme: God creates everything for our good. 1st Reading Genesis 2:18-24 God creates a helpmate for man. 2nd Reading Hebrews 2:9-11 Jesus shares every thing with us Gospel Mark 10:2-16 Permanence of Marriage according to Jesus. The church asks us to be aware of our faith by this wonderful grace. The faith God has given to us in the families is active and alive through the practice of our faith. The Year of faith is announced today on this day when we celebrate the mission Sunday. When the whole church celebrated the feast of the little flower’s feast day she was raised to be the patroness of the missionaries We see only when the negative is connected to the positive light appears. When the North-pole is joined to the South-pole there is attraction. We see nature has two opposites. The Yin Yen of the being. The male female of creation of all kinds is a mystery which the philosophers have tried to unravel. The animate and inanimate has opposite. This is the reality of creation These are natural phenomenon teaching us that God has meant these to exist side by side with the other realities of life. The creation right from the beginning is created in this form for its substance. Today when we try to reflect on the reality of marital bond in human existence, both woman and man is essential for its continuity. The union of the couple enters in a special covenant with the living Lord Jesus. For us Christians marriage is not defined simply in terms of legal contract between husband and wife. It is a covenant with Christ, a permanent agreement involving promises made by the couple to protect those united with him. This is why marriage is a sacrament of unity and consecration to life where wedding vows constitute an act of worship. These exchanges of marriage vows are public and become realities of lifelong commitment. They cannot be broken whatever the cause. Therefore this vow is indissoluble. In the present secular thinking, most of the values of society are questioned by reasoning people without realizing the importance of God’s presence in their lives. In each of us there is a wee bit of this little voice placed in the depth of human mind which keeps on shouting to the right thing at the right time. People seek easy pleasures due to constant influence of media, which is only passing and transitory and makes them unhappy and dissatisfied. There is always a sense of guilt. Therefore there is a kind of justification sought in the form of cheap media propaganda and advertisement. We are influenced by this the whole day through the TV and Radio propaganda. The supernatural law which is engraved in the hearts of man and woman allows the human beings to rise to protect what is good and valuable. In recent times when there have been laws that have been enacted to give seeming semblance to unnatural union between two same sex realities. Some even call reality as true, quoting some research on human behavior that had been tarnished already from the beginning. It is like a human being raised in the company of animals as animal never associated with human behavior. It is possible to create such unnatural behaviors by human control. Then why are doubts at these unions are raised? We seen in any situation any God’s law that is broken brings with it a creeping doubt if what I do is right or wrong. This inner sense is ingrained in our conscience, by God himself. Therefore in today’s reading we see the old and new testament had upheld the reality of marriage bond between man and woman. This union became a reality in the lives of man and woman they even had the right to leave their parents to begin their own unit in the society. As believers today we require to reestablish the sanctity of this bond. Where man and woman in marriage bond has to understand, appreciate, respect, love, care, forgive, forget, live in harmony, communicate, share etc. only then will this bond become binding and lasting. All the developments cannot undo the reality of natural and supernatural. Let us hope we are able to bring about the lasting joy in the lives of people who seek the marriage bond even today. Those young who seek to live this bond searching for a life partner happy married union. Those that have already been married for many years a happy and contented married life.
